    Maker's mark selection.

    Hey guys,
I'm in the process of sorting out a mark for my work, I was thinking of just using Morrison, or W. Morrison, in a suitable font. Does anyone know of any other Morrisons making knives? I couldn't find any.

    Thanks

    Will.

hi Will, you can register or patent a name as long as no else has it, to do this go to the patent and redgistar office type in the name you want to see if it is avalliable, if it is taken just change it to suit cheers Vic.

Not sure about any morrisons making knives Will,

    Have a look here:http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/sh...-Maker-s-marks

I can recommend Ernie for your stencils if you go that way. His quality is excellent and his turnaround is amazing: http://www.erniesknives.com/knifemaker_stencil.html

    Good luck

Vittorio- Thanks I'll have to look into that. I just checked out the Australian government intellectual property website, thoroughly confusing. I'm fairly certain I don't need 'Plant breeders rights' so that's a starting point. Cheers.

Matt- Thanks for the link, I've just gone through it a few times, some great marks there. No Morrisons as yet, looking good.

We can talk more about this when you come over (stamp V etch) I'm sure you will be safe using "Morrison". Even if there is another one out there, the chances of two marks being identical will be astronomical. The more important issue is size, especialy if you stamp. Too big and you will need a second, smaller stamp to mark smaller blades.

The plural of knife is knives.
    One knife.
    Two knives.
    The plural possessive is knives'.

    Cheers Peter.
I'd like to have a pretty small mark anyway, if the length of my name allows it.

Go for something hip like WILLDOG or MORRIDOG. Then you can start wearing gold chains and throwing cash around. Maybe get some Grillz done. yeah boy
