Question Is this true to its description?

    Hi Guys

I came across this one on an overseas auction site quite a while ago.

    The description of the knife:

    AUSTRALIAN WWII MILITARY KNIFE-scarce!

Bowie 8" blade, overall 13", maker "Whittingslowe", with finger grooved handle with 3 brass pins, brass guard. Sheath brown leather with 8 rivets, and stamped with a Georgian crown above deer antlers and stamped "Hirchkrone" Note the very tip of the sheath is missing.
Refer R Fook's book page 174, plate 414 (similar, but longer) & Bowie!

Is this a Whittingslowe knife that you would like to add to your Military collection?

I can't find my Flook book after the move, but I doubt that there's a picture of this knife!

    Lightbulb

    You are absolutely correct Knifeknut.

The knife referred to resembles the listed one only in that it has a blade and a handle.

I am surprised that some other Militaria collectors did not comment on this.
