    Stretched feather wedding knife

Last weekend was my eldest girls wedding so i had to make the wedding knife , instead of a slicer to just cut the cake i wanted to make them something they could use in the kitchen that they could both use and enjoy together so i settled on a gyuto , the blade was forged when i was in the USA at Bill Burkes workshop working under his and Bruce Barnett's supervision , i somehow managed to cut and restack the billet while they wern't watching one to many times causing too many layers (hence the stretched look of the feather) , i copped a rap over the knuckles for that one , anyhow it has a "unique" pattern to it but i think it turned out ok in the end.

    255mm blade of 1084/15n20
140mm handle of spalted sassafras with 416 fittings

That is gorgeous. I actually like that drawn out look, it's just something really different.
